Dave
My dear friend Dave Carlson died this morning at 2 am. I feel so bad and have shed many tears already for him. He was a wonderful man, full of compassion and love for his fellow men. He said that Jesus Christ had atoned for everyone so he could not judge anyone, that was not for him to do, he was only to love everyone, and he did. He was so much fun to play cards with and he so looked forward to our games each week. Mellonie and I usually played partners against Dave and Larry and it usually turned out about 50/50. It didn't matter to him if he won or lost, he just had fun playing. He was always a very active man, played football with a full schoolership in collage, very hard working and loved his wife and family. He was a convert to the church, and once he joined there was no looking back. His testimony was one of the strongest I've ever heard. He was truly a Christian in every sense of the word. I shall miss him so much!!

I am sorry for your loss Grandma, it is always hard to lose someone you love that is why I am so grateful for the gospel in my life. I understand your pain Astley and I recently lost our Bishop he died in a plane crash on March 9. It was very sad for us, and I still miss him but he was such a wonderful man just like your friend Dave sounds like. I am happy that he got his release from this life and that he is able to continue the work on the other side of the veil just like my Bishop. I love you grandma!
At least Dave is not in pain anymore. He made that last trip to Disneyland and returned back home.
I know it's hard to lose a friend to death especially on the 11th.
Grandma- I couldn't have said it better than Breann has. How lucky you are to have the sureness of the Gospel in your heart, and how lucky you are to know Dave and to know where he is now. Knowing that he is out of pain and able to continue his work on the other side is what gets you through the grief and pain. And knowing you will someday have the chance to hug him and speak with him again. I pray his family finds comfort in those promises as well.
I love you Grandma!
Thank you Breann, Kimber, and Lisa for your words of wisdom. I am grateful to know that I will see Dave again on the other side of the veil and that he no longer is suffering in pain. And yes Kimber, it did make it doubly hard being the 11th and him dying in much the same way as my sweet husband. But maybe they'll get together and play cards they both loved it so.
I love all 3 of you too!!
